I live in Pittsboro North Carolina with my daughter Ellie and my two rotten dogs, Bella Zoe and Sprocket.
My inspiration lies in most of what I see and breathe daily. My daughter being the majority of my inspiration, she is living proof of sunshine. Her energetic personality and extreme care for the earth motivates me and inspires me to paint. I may have been a mermaid in a previous life as my love for the ocean is intense. My favorite sound is the sound of my breathing while under water. This tragedy that BP has caused our oceans eats away at my soul. It is with great privilege and honor that I can offer my work up for auction to support the National Wildlife Federation. ♥ The idea behind Soul Prints came to me one evening after moving into a new house and all of my art supplies were still packed away. I was craving paint and couldn't... See More’t find my brushes. All that I could find was paint, paper and canvas. I thought to myself that I had once painted with my fingers as a child I could certainly do it again as an adult. I started by doing my hand and feet prints, then once the paint dried I saw designs within the prints and used india ink and calligraphy pen to outline the images. The same night I decided to use my breasts as the medium between the paint and my canvas. I stood in front of a mirror and painted an image on my breast and then pressed them on to canvas. Soul Prints was born. |
